2011 GIRLS

There are eight teams in the Girls Division.
Teams have been placed in two 4-team divisions: Division A & Division B.
The games format is designed so that each team has a fair chance to compete.

Round Robin (RR)

  • Each team will play 4 RR games.
  • Each game Wednesday and Thursday will feature an opponent from the opposite division, consisting of 2 games Wednesday and 2 games Thursday.

"Re-Seed Friday"

  • After the round robin has been completed (Wednesday's and Thursday's games), each team plays once on Friday.
  • In Division "A", 1st place plays 2nd place and 3rd place plays 4th place.
  • Likewise, in Division "B", 1st place plays 2nd place and 3rd place plays 4th place.
  • The games on Friday determine how teams are seeded 1st through 4th in each division going into the quarter-finals. For example, on Friday the 1stplace team in Division A plays the 2nd place team in Division “A”. The winner of that game becomes the top seed in Division A. Whereas, the loser of that game becomes the 2nd seed in Division A, and so on.
  • After "Re-Seed Friday" games are completed and teams re-seeded, the Girls Standings become irrelevant going forward into the Girls Play-Offs.
Re-Seed Friday Home Away WINNER becomes LOSER becomes
Game 1  1st Division "A" 2nd Division "A" 1st Seed "A" 2nd Seed "A"
Game 2 1st Division "B" 2nd Division "B" 1st Seed "B" 2nd Seed "B"
Game 3 3rd Division "B" 4th Division "B 3rd Seed "B" 4th Seed "B"
Game 4 3rd Division "A" 4th Division "A" 3rd Seed "A" 4th Seed "A"

Play Offs

All Seeding based on "Re-Seed Friday" Results

Quarter-Finals (Saturday)
All teams play Saturday in a conventional cross-division quarter-final (QF).

  • 1st seed from division "A" plays 4th seed from division "B".
  • 2nd seed from division "A" plays 3rd seed from division "B".
  • 1st seed from division "B" plays 4th seed from division "A".
  • 2nd seed from division "B" plays 3rd seed from division "A".

Semi-Finals (Saturday)
The four remaining teams play off in two semi-final (SF) games.

  • SF1... The highest seed remaining from the QF's is the home team and plays the lowest seed remaining from the QF's.
  • SF2... The 2nd highest seed remaining from the QF's is the home team and plays the 2nd lowest seed remaining from the QF's.

Championship Final (Sunday)

The two remaining teams play off in the championship final game.

  • The highest seed remaining from the SF's is the home team.
  • If the two remaining teams are both seeded equally, (eg) 1st from Division "A" v. 1st from Division "B", then we will hold a coin toss to determine home team.
